Precision Under Pressure: ANTUATOR Linear Actuators

in the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series

In the world of high-end manufacturing, the most convincing proof is never a promise —
it is performance that stands the test of time.

For ANTUATOR, the electric rear spoiler lifting system used in the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT Black Series is exactly such a story — one that deserves to be told.

From “Almost Impossible” to Being Chosen by a Global Icon

The story begins in 2019.

Mercedes-Benz was developing a new electric rear spoiler lifting system for its limited-edition, ultra-high-performance sports car — the AMG GT Black Series.
The technical requirements were exceptionally demanding:

  • Extremely compact installation space

  • High structural strength

  • Absolute operational stability

  • Long-term reliability under real driving conditions

In short:
small in size, but powerful, stable, and reliable.

Mercedes-Benz’s Tier-1 supplier evaluated several well-established European linear actuator manufacturers — and at the same time, invited ANTUATOR, a Chinese electric linear actuator manufacturer, to participate in technical prototyping.

For ANTUATOR, this was both a challenge and a rare opportunity.

Deep Customization: Not Product Selection, but Co-Development

Starting in May 2019, ANTUATOR’s engineering team entered months of intensive technical communication with the project leaders.

This was not a simple actuator selection process.
It was a joint development project, focused on:

  • Structural dimensions

  • Stroke accuracy

  • Installation geometry

  • Long-term durability and reliability

In July 2019, both parties confirmed the first technical solution and completed the initial prototypes.

In August and December 2019, the actuators were sent to Mercedes-Benz’s testing laboratories in Germany, where they underwent multiple rounds of high-intensity performance and durability testing.

Based on continuous feedback, ANTUATOR refined the design again and again — pushing closer to the technical limits required by one of the world’s most demanding automotive brands.

From Prototype to Mass Production: Engineering Strength Speaks

By June 2020, the project reached the final validation stage.

After completing all required tests and approvals, Mercedes-Benz’s supplier officially selected ANTUATOR electric linear actuators as the mass-production solution for the 2021 AMG GT Black Series electric rear spoiler lifting system.

Large-scale procurement began in the second half of the year.

In this project, ANTUATOR not only competed successfully with European manufacturers —
it demonstrated a fundamental truth:High-end customization is not defined by geography, but by engineering capability and quality control.

The Best Answer Time Can Give: Zero Complaints

Today, when we look back at this project, the result speaks for itself.

The system has been operating reliably for years.
To date, ANTUATOR has received zero quality complaints from Mercedes-Benz related to this application.

No laboratory test is more convincing than real-world performance over time.

Because true quality is proven in actual use, under real conditions, after years of operation.

Making Innovation More Certain

From the AMG GT Black Series to a growing number of high-end applications, ANTUATOR remains committed to one principle:

  • Reliable engineering

  • Stable manufacturing quality

  • Open and flexible customization capabilities

Being selected by Mercedes-Benz is not the finish line —
it is a validated starting point.

Choose ANTUATOR, and give your innovation one more layer of certainty.
